In this work the use of supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) for extraction and enrichment of tocols in barley extracts was investigated. Two different varieties of barley, Nure and Aliseo were utilized and working at “mild” conditions, 20 MPa and 40 or 60 °C, it was possible to obtain good tocols recoveries (from 60% up to 85%) and a product enriched in alfa-tocopherol and alfa-, beta- and gamma-tocotrienol, with specific enrichment factors ranging from 1.2 to 3.7
