Metodologie interdisciplinari di conservazione e divulgazione dell’Architettura del Novecento. Il caso studio del ponte sul Basento di Sergio Musmeci

The architectural heritage of the XXth Century is distinguished using the modern com- bination of two materials, concrete and steel. Every city has identifying architectures of modern civilisation that have been built using the multiple construction possibilities of reinforced concrete. This recent heritage reveals day after day its vulnerability due to the lack of planned maintenance, fertile ground for concomitant causes of material- structural degradation. The work illustrates the opportunities offered by innovative methods of intervention based on the critical use of both information technologies in the fundamental phases of knowledge and diagnostics and new materials for the conservation of the architectural heritage in reinforced concrete. The work takes as a case study the bridge over the Basento (Potenza) by Sergio Musmeci, one of the masterworks of organic architecture recognised as a cultural asset in 2003.
