The properties of the unstable particles are analyzed relativistically in a spectral form similar to the solvable Friedrichs-Lee model of the nonrelativistic theory. Singular threshold effects are considered. The approach is then extended to a renormalizable quantum field theory that includes unstable particles. Their dynamical behavior is then investigated by examining the renormalization effects for the propagators. The connection with the Källen-Lehmann spectral representation is established and some phenomenological implications are discussed.

Abstract
The properties of the unstable particles are analyzed relativistically in a spectral form similar to the solvable Friedrichs-Lee model of the nonrelativistic theory. Singular threshold effects are considered. The approach is then extended to a renormalizable quantum field theory that includes unstable particles. Their dynamical behavior is then investigated by examining the renormalization effects for the propagators. The connection with the Källen-Lehmann spectral representation is established and some phenomenological implications are discussed.File in questo prodotto:
