In this paper, a simple method to account for the effects of nonlinearities in the analysis of pile foundations is presented. A short outline of current methods of analysis is first given; a simple approach is then proposed to account for the influence of the nonlinear response of a single pile on the distribution of a given load. The results obtained following the approach are presented and discussed, and some final considerations are given.
