Abstract

The need of moving from a qualitative assessment of the environmental sustainability of building projects and achievements, to a quantitative assessment, has put in the center of researchers’ interest the need of making practical use in the design process of the assessment methods based on the LCA. On the basis of the ISO 14025:2006 and ISO 21930:2007, was developed by La.Te.C - Construction Technology Laboratory of the Basilicata University - a software that allows to make a comprehensive study "from cradle to grave", working on these assessments. The software is divided into two parts: the "Product" Module and "Technical Element" Module. Subject of this paper is the Technical Element Module (EABM-TE Module) on the building component, that allows to evaluate the eco-profile of a technical element, which is a technological solution which consists of several components, from the extraction of raw materials till the end of life. This allows to complete the evaluation of the behavior of the single product setting it within the building by paying attention to the function that performs in itself and with other components. The EABM-TE module is shown here: how to use, the input data required, the algorithm and output data.
