The research identifies with the knowledge of types and shapes of living in urban places of ancient layout and with the contemporary project for the historic city of inner and fragile areas, the matrix of intervention for the recovery of “dispersed heritages” and for the regeneration of public and private spaces. The case studies bring together a selection of elaborations comprising urban studies of a portion of the Lucanian territory, within the “Montagna Materana” area, which represents, in a coherent manner, the forms, and geographical features of the valleys and the orographic and morphological hill system. The critical knowledge on the complex composition of characters, morphologies, and settlement types of these places are the results of surveys, investigations, and studies shared by the research team with the technical team of local administrations. The second part consists of a design that stands as a reference model, a sort of “code of practice” on a professional and research level. The areas identified for the design experimentation are characterized by building units that still present the original features of the founding matrix that gave rise to the urban form. In the implementation of a design process, it was considered the relationship between architecture and natural pre-existences, the consideration of the architecture of the city and its formally completed parts.

Abstract
In the implementation of a design process, it was considered the relationship between architecture and natural pre-existences, the consideration of the architecture of the city and its formally completed parts.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
