We study the decay B_ ! J= K_____ using 117 _ 106 B_B events collected at the Y_4S_ resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e_e_ asymmetric-energy storage ring. We measure the branching fractions B _B_ ! J= K______ _ _116 7_stat:_ 9_syst:__ _ 10_5 and B _B_ ! X_3872_K___ B _X_3872_ ! J= _____ _ _1:28 0:41_ _ 10_5 and find the mass of the X_3872_ to be 3873:4 1:4 MeV=c2. We search for the hc narrow state in the decay B_ ! hcK_, hc ! J= ____ and for the decay B_ ! J= D0__, with D0 ! K___. We set the 90% C.L. limits B_B_ ! hcK__ _ B_hc ! J= _____ < 3:4 _ 10_6 and B_B_ ! J= D0___ < 5:2 _ 10_5.
