Abstract
In the peculiar karst landscapes of the “Parco dell’Alta Murgia”, there are “Le Quite”, the latest evidence of “rural archeology” and anthropogenic modification of the landscape, characterized by the division into “quotas – share” of the great feudal territories. The peasants were assigned the rocky and not very fertile lands. This leds to build very poor stone architectures (as dry masonry, etc) that describe the immeasurable work carried out by the peasants to obtain portions of fertile land from the stony ones and represent a memory of social redemption and economics of a “landless population”.File in questo prodotto:
