Two new classes of S-spaces are constructed. The first one is obtained extending a method due to Barlotti and Cofman (1974), based on the derivation in an affine plane introduced by Ostrom (1964). The second one is connected with a still unsolved classification problem raised by Sved (1982) on Baer subspaces of $\mathrm{PG}(r,q^{2})$, and it provides a new family of S-spaces whenever a certain case of Sved's classification occurs.
