### Cryptosystems based on latin rectangles and generalised affine spaces

#### Abstract

Most of the known S-spaces derive from the ordinary affine space $\mathrm{AG}(r,\mathbb{F})$, with $\mathbb{F}$ a field, by modifying the point-line incidence in order to obtain another structure satisfying the Euclid's axiom on line-parallelism. We present a new aproach to construct secret key cryptosystems using S-spaces arising from sets of pairwise orthogonal latin rectangles.
