Abstract

In the process of language acquisition, concepts are constituted along with the development of sensorimotor schemes. This means that the child, before starting to talk, has already formed in the long term memory his/her “representations” of experienced objects and situations. One of the most important tools of shaping “mental images” is analogical thinking. On the basis of some linguistic examples this paper shows some tracks of this process.
