This short article is focused on the concept of ‘appropriation’ and its use into the anthropological literature related to the relations between art and anthropology. The concept of “appropriation” has been used since Ninety to explain the Western power to include non-Western cultural “objects” into various anthropological representations and collecting museographic practices. Recently, scholars as Arnd Schneider and Roger Sansi have emphasized the role of “appropriation” into art-anthropological practices and artworks as a widespread art poetics. But the relation turn into art and anthropology created new and more problematic twines between appropriation, participation and reflexivity in an “enminded” perspective.
