In the present work, the attention is focused on two-phase flows containing liquid droplets. The physics of spraysand numerical methodologies for the solution of the compressible navier-Stokes equations for two-phase flows are reviewed, and a novel numerical approach is presented. Applications of the method to sprays in constant pressure ambient and in confined volumes are reported, and results are compared with available experimental data.
