Abstract

The present work summarises the research and the analysis results achieved by the authors in some scientific missions in Turkey and Greece after the seismic events occurred in 1999. During these missions some field data have been collected, organised in a data base and then analysed, in order to get some statistical elaborations. Special attention has been devoted to the analysis of reinforced concrete structures; on the base of the collected data a possible classification of r.c buildings has been proposed. It is consistent with the new European Macro-seismic Scale EMS and shows damage propensity of some specific structural typological characteristics.
