Vulnerability and seismic risk assessment are two issues that have become increasingly important over time due to numerous seismic events. Particular attention is given to economic losses, associated with post-earthquake repairs. This work focuses on analyzing the seismic vulnerability of a C-shaped existing masonry building located in the Italian territory. The assessment of the structure nonlinear global response is performed through pushover analyses in accordance with the Italian Design Code. Following this, the Expected Annual Losses (EAL) and the safety index (IS-V) are calculated in order to evaluate the Risk Class, reaching thus to a seismic risk assessment. Specifically, from the results associated with the analyses performed, the case study considered is classified in Risk Class B. This work represents just the first part of a more extensive study that will include parametric analyses considering the impact of the Knowledge Level (KL) and the potential structural interventions on the seismic behavior of the building.
