This volume draws on an extensive qualitative and quantitative study of EU legal texts on migration. The research investigates whether Euro-English can be recognised as a distinct and alternative pan-European variety of standard British English in light of recent developments. Using the AntConc Concordancer, the analysis explores the lexico-grammatical and semantic features, as well as the collocational patterns of specific keywords within a corpus of 120 EU legal texts drafted in English. The findings offer valuable insights into the evolving nature of English as a lingua franca and the potential emergence of a Euro-English variety. This volume is intended for early-career scholars and readers interested in the intercultural and sociolinguistic dynamics of English in the EU, with particular attention to corpus linguistics.

The findings offer valuable insights into the evolving nature of English as a lingua franca and the potential emergence of a Euro-English variety. This volume is intended for early-career scholars and readers interested in the intercultural and sociolinguistic dynamics of English in the EU, with particular attention to corpus linguistics.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
