Earthflows, in different evolution phases, are the most diffused landslides in the Lucan Apennines. For very representative cases in the structurally complex Miocene formation of Varicoloured Clays, the paper presents the results of permeability tests carried out in the landslide bodies, in the stable formation and in the slip zones, as well as updated long data series of porewater pressures and basal displacements. The results show that the highest permeability occurs in the slip zone, where also the most significant porewater pressure variations attributable to rain have been recorded. To seepage pressures in the slip zone, deep basal displacement rates seem to be strongly correlated.
