This contribution represents an extract from the larger research project, still under investigation, which refers to the Priority Axis of interest: ‘Strengthening the network of cultural attractions to re-inhabit the Inner Areas of Matera Mountains’. The area of Matera Mountains is structured as an ‘archipelago of beauty’ made up of eight municipalities in the heart of Lucania region. It is a marginal area within the South of Italy, subject to a strong demographic decline and various phenomena of instability and degradation of the heritage. Characterized by a unique and impervious landscape, this ‘fragile territory’ has been the subject, in recent years, of the drafting of a national strategy for the recovery and enhancement of the places that compose it, through specific and concrete actions, in agreement and synergy with Local administrations. The first personal design and research experiences were carried out in the framework of a didactic and research laboratory with the support of undergraduates and doctoral students of the University of Basilicata, considering as case studies two of the eight municipalities of the Materana Mountain Area: San Mauro Forte and Stigliano.

Abstract
The first personal design and research experiences were carried out in the framework of a didactic and research laboratory with the support of undergraduates and doctoral students of the University of Basilicata, considering as case studies two of the eight municipalities of the Materana Mountain Area: San Mauro Forte and Stigliano.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
