Abstract
The paper will present the results of the international workshop Erasmus Intensive Programme The city carved landscape of assets between tradition and innovation made in Matera in April 2014. The experience of training and experimental teaching has been proposed as an opportunity for analytical thinking and planning on how to intervene today in the fabric of the historic city from one of the forms of settlement that man has chosen to inhabit the earth: the city carved . The main objective is to introduce the student to the knowledge of a design methodology that takes the city as a principle to investigate the ways and useful solutions to the architectural design. This methodological approach rather than formal and functional solutions, aims to address issues of urban architecture by analyzing cognitive support as needed on which to base the project proposal. Drawings and plans of a city “invisible” have been a place of knowledge of the past and to design the future from the city of Matera, a UNESCO heritage site. In this exercise, the historic city, though organism, is under investigation for portions, as elements of a bar code, each one of them brings with it one or more themes of architecture; all want investigating the relationship that exists between them, with the city, the countryside, the territoryFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
