Caixa Forum Madrid. Un ejemplo de recuperación del patrimonio industrial

In the last few decades, many architectural spaces have been recovered to provide them with a new use. Thus, part of the industrial heritage of our cities, has undergone transformations that have meant not only the value of buildings, but also the area or urban area in which they are. The Mediodía power station in the capital of Spain was located in a privileged place, in the so-called golden triangle of art in Madrid. Its recovery and transformation by the famous architects Herzog & Meuron has meant a milestone of modern architecture in the city, in this building, as in other projects already carried out by the Swiss team, consolidates the integration between the old and the new, between respect for the architectural historical memory and architecture of recent years. The article explains this architectural symbiosis, from a historical architectural point of view (as a singular work), to its complex execution.
