The research makes the point about archival and bibliographical sources concerning hospitals attested in Basilicata between XIII and XVI centuries; during Middle Age sources are poor, but describe the presence of hospitals in the most importante centres (Potenza, Melfi, Matera); about early Moderne Age, in some cases it was possible to trace a brief institutional profile of hospitals and their relationships with laity.
