A two-dimensional finite difference model able to describe the flow field and the density distribution resulting from suspended sediment and bed-load transport is presented. A dimensionless approach is proposed in order to derive the main characteristics of the processes, and further, to give a suitable tool for the understanding of the phenomena without any model calibration. The model is employed with respect to the experiments made by other authors in order to verify the numerical response. A good agreement is found between the measurements and the simulation obtained through the model.

Abstract
A two-dimensional finite difference model able to describe the flow field and the density distribution resulting from suspended sediment and bed-load transport is presented. A dimensionless approach is proposed in order to derive the main characteristics of the processes, and further, to give a suitable tool for the understanding of the phenomena without any model calibration. The model is employed with respect to the experiments made by other authors in order to verify the numerical response. A good agreement is found between the measurements and the simulation obtained through the model.File in questo prodotto:
