A brief survey on some recent results concerning a physical model describing heat conduction in solids and leading to a quasi-linear hyperbolic system of balance laws is presented. A new semi-empirical temperature scale is introduced in tterms of which the proportionality law between its gradient and the heat flux vector is formulated. The hyperbolicity of the heat conduction equation is manifested. Thermomechanical coupling is also discussed. The survey summarizes the results obtained in the papers [0,1,2].

Abstract
A brief survey on some recent results concerning a physical model describing heat conduction in solids and leading to a quasi-linear hyperbolic system of balance laws is presented. A new semi-empirical temperature scale is introduced in tterms of which the proportionality law between its gradient and the heat flux vector is formulated. The hyperbolicity of the heat conduction equation is manifested. Thermomechanical coupling is also discussed. The survey summarizes the results obtained in the papers [0,1,2].File in questo prodotto:
