In the last years, the assessment of seismic capacity of buildings and consequent possible retrofitting have become a fundamental topics in earthquake engineering. About the selection of retrofitting strategies more studies have been carried out. The choice of criteria for the selection of intervention strategies for seismic retrofitting of buildings is one of the key issues for the reduction of seismic risk on a large territorial scale. This issue is certainly of greatest interest for strategic buildings. Obviously, the best choice should be defined on the specific features of the single structure and on its seismic deficiencies obtained from the assessment procedure. In this way, different method and alternative approaches regarding the single buildings can be investigated and the consequent application can be the optimum strategy. On a wide territorial scale, the location of economic sources has a fundamental socio-economic role because, strategic buildings are expected to have high performance during and after seismic emergency. In past years, often decision-making and selection of different strategies were devoid of no rational criteria. Due to both the huge amount of strategic buildings requiring interventions and the limited economic availability it is necessary a first step to define the priority of interventions on a wide territorial scale. In the present work, the seismic risk management strategies based on retrofitting of the buildings, are investigated. To achieve the goal, different multi-criteria decision-making analysis have been considered and applied to data set of strategic buildings.
