This document reports main results and the state‐of‐the‐art of experimental methodologies for the study, by satellite observations, of Earth’s thermal emission and its possible relations with earthquakes occurrence. Focus will be given on the methods/models proposed until now: ‐ to discriminate a possible pre‐seismic TIR anomaly from all the other TIR signal fluctuations ‐ to correlate such anomalies with space, time and magnitude of earthquakes ‐ to physically justify such a correlation This document will not report the studies which refer to Earth’s thermal emission measured in the Long‐Waves (LW) spectral range by OLR (Outgoing Longwaves Radiation) products. In the same way the document will not report the studies based on passive microwave sensors. However at the end of the report a selection of papers relevant to both these arguments is reported.
