Comparative diagnostic as an instrument for intervention’s durability

The conservation intervention of built heritage, both historic or not, is appropriate if it is depth the knowledge of the building. In fact, it is no possible to ignore the importance of the diagnostic phase both "to control" the interventions and to study the global feature of the system, especially in a program of long-term maintenance in order to guarantee the interventions durability. The research focuses on the possibility/need to operate a comprehensive diagnostic analysis of the building and to make a comparison between the different tests performed; it is possible to cross the results obtained from tests - destructive and not – in order to get data that are qualitatively and quantitatively correct and extensible to whole building. The analysis and qualification of the buildings walls point out that this approach is useful for the classification of building pathological events and for the implementation of innovative solutions, in order to guarantee the interventions durability.
