43 new species of lichens and lichenicolous fungi were found in the territory of the National Park of Pollino (Basilicata, Southern Italy). There are two very interesting group of species: the first, the Caliciales, indicator of the ecological continuity of the forest, are present on old trees (Abies alba Mill.). The second one consists of the foliicolous species that are presents in a small wet valley with subtropical microclimate conditions. From the results of this work, the number of taxa of the lichen flora of Basilicata rises to 559 species, with an increase of 9%.
