Abstract

The Muses, who have not a significant role in Virgil's Bucolics of Virgil, appear to be important in certain passages (ecl. 6, 13, ecl. 8, 62-63; ecl. 10, 70-72, partly ecl. 9, 32-36) marked by the dialogue of the poet with Cornelius Gallus' elegy, as it is proved by formal and conceptual similarities between these passages and the verses by Qaṣr Ibrîm.
